It looks like this is the last chapter of the first volume and the first story arc.  I'll put out an announcement on this blog when the first volume is released along with links for you to purchase the manga.  If you like this series, you should purchase the book to give thanks to Shouto-sensei.

Spoilers ahead ---
And now my thoughts on the chapter.  Finally, we see Kana begin to internalize her situation and it's very interesting to me that this all happens in a fire.  Fire has all kinds of meanings.  I think of fire as a cleanser and also in reference to the myth of the Phoenix -- a mythical bird that resurrects from its own ashes.  Finally Kana understands that she's truly undead and confronts the horror or feeling pain while being indestructible.  In fire, though, this is basically hell -- eternally on fire but never burning.  I hope the next chapter spends some more time with Kana thinking about her situation and her purpose.

The Aki/Shiranui buddy duo is solidified.  I like this buddy pair a lot and I look forward to seeing more of their interactions.

Happy New Year from Your Favorite Lala and Lala DX Mangakas!

Here are some New Year's messages from some of the artist featured in Lala and Lala DX magazine.  I didn't have time to translate the messages and I don't know if I will find time soon.   Anyhow, if you can't read Japanese, then look at the pretty pictures and imagine that each one of them says "Happy New Year" + "Let's do our best in the New Year", because that pretty much sums them up (although a few are a little more personal and describe a major event for them in the 2010.)

Oga is usually seen sporting a grosteque grin and his demonic features are visbly shown when he is either angry or distrubed. He posesses brown hair and dark eyes, he is rather muscular with a wide-spread build, and his attire usually consists of a worn-out shirt and plain pants (usually jeans). He has been shown on a few ocassions to be wearing either sweatpants, and on one ocassion, has even been shown wearing his pijamas (ironically very detailed with pinstripes going down the side). When Oga attempts to smile, he is usually seen with a demonic, evil grin. This speaks to his lack of social skills (due to his ihibition in a juvenile highschool).
When fighting Oga appears to have a different look. Aside from his rare comedic entrances (usually relief from an intense situation), he is usually very calm and actually quite aware. His eyes are alert and he seems in control of his emotions. Be'el does not transfer this emotion however, and is usually shown in a maintained angry look.

Hidetora Tojo Beelzebub

Hidetora Toujou is the strongest of the Tohoshinki.
The fourth Touhoushinki member. Hidetora Toujou is by far the strongest male member of the Tohoshinki (his strength in comparison to Kunieda is not confirmed, though it can be implied that Hidetora Toujou is stronger than her indirectly from their other fights. Hidetora Toujou has an unexpected soft side towards smaller creatures and babies, though said creatures do not feel similarly towards him. Hidetora Toujou is mostly bored with weaklings and is always looking for a good fight, which subsequently leads to his interest towards Oga. Hidetora Toujou works multiple jobs and sometimes has to miss school because of them. Hidetora Toujou can feel Saotome using his demon power, which shows Hidetora Toujou has notable strength for a human.
His fighting style is a rigid brutal force, which he uses for intimidation and strength purposes. Hidetora Toujou possesses an immediate threat to anyone he faces and has shown a strong willingness to fight, even at the expense of his own body. His main adversary thus far has been Oga, and although Hidetora Toujou does show a certain amount of respect for him, it is clear that the battles they share are the only things that matter to him. Hidetora Toujou appears to possess an incredible amount of vatality and stamina, as Hidetora Toujou was able to take a full blow from Mikki without so much as flinching.
Hidetora Toujou appears to know the female horsemen quite well. She referred to him as Tora when they met after the volleyball match.

Hidetora Toujou is usually seen wearing a tucked in collared shirt but will also wear his schools uniform on occasion. His hair has been shown to be a redish orange thats pushed back out of his face. Hidetora Toujou is extremely well toned and usually stands at least a head taller over most of the other characters.

Hidetora Toujou is known to be very calm and loves to fight even more than Oga. He has very good control over his emotions and is very bottled up , so no one knows what he is thinking or his opinions.

Oga tatsumi is a strong fighter, beating up some fellow class mates and then making them bow down to him because they had attacked himwhen oga relax. It is revealed that Oga tatsumi is relaying the story of a series of strange events which leads to him becoming the Earthly father of the son of the devil, Beelzebub IV. Oga tatsumi was picked to become Beelzebub's father because oga possessed the qualities of the ideal parent for the future Demon King: strong, arrogant, and thinks-nothing-of-fellow-man. In addition to the aformentioned attributes, Oga tatsumi also seems to take pleasure in tormenting others, such as downright kidnapping Furuichi from a 5-star resort in order to go with him to the public pool, stating that Oga tatsumi did so mainly to piss him of. Oga tatsumi and Beelzebub cannot be separated by more than 15 meters or else it may result in instant death for Oga tatsumi, according to Hilda. A tattoo-like contract on Oga's right hand, which grows larger the more he fights, signifies the contract between Beelzebub and him. The contract allows Oga tatsumi to access large amounts of demonic power.Thus, Oga tatsumi tries to stop fighting to limit the powers which will ultimately be used to end the human race. Oga tatsumi seems to have a lot of enemies and makes even more as the series progresses. Oga tatsumi also seems to have no friends except for his classmate, Furuichi. Oga tatsumi lives with his parents and sister, though Hilda and Beelzebub have recently moved into his house. Oga tatsumi is currently a first year at Ishiyama High School. Surprisingly, Oga tatsumi is a decent father figure to Beelzebub. Oga tatsumi seems to be stronger than the average human, as Hilda said being exposed to the amount of demonic power he took would drive a normal person insane. Recently Oga tatsumi has been thrown out of his house by his sister until he finds Hilda and apologizes to her and bring her back. Oga tatsumi has been confronted by Toujou, who had baby Beel with him, and said "let's fight" to Oga tatsumi. The fight seemed to go in Oga's favor until Toujou sent him flying into the river. He returns home and is confronted with Hilda who tells him that she would support him in order to get baby Beel back. After repairing his link with Beel, Oga tatsumi goes to the school to defeat Toujou and get baby Beel back. Baby Beel turns back to normal when he sees Oga. Oga tatsumi tells him not to interfere with his fight, and after a long battle he defeats Toujou. After that he accidentally destroys the school because of backup power from Beel.

*Fighting Style
Oga tatsumi even before meeting Baby Be'el has only used his fists to fight. Using street fighting techniques and his already inhuman strength to win fights. He also knows a lot of wrestling moves like, "German Suplex" and "Boston Crab." Now that Beelzebub is with him his strength further enhanced with demonic energy. Oga tatsumi likes to make up crazy

Zebub Spell- The spell on his right hand expands and grows, moving up his arm and spreading across his face. The more it expands the more Oga tatsumi's power grows.
Zebub Blast - Oga punches his opponent and releases a large amount of demonic energy that's strong enough to destroy a building.

Ichigo Kurosaki later has his body taken over by Hollow Ichigo once again. This time, the full transformation is very physically different in appearance and far more powerful than originally shown. In this form, Ichigo has long straight hair, reaching down to his waist, and a Hollow hole even larger than his previous one, decorated with markings stretching from the hole, across his chest and shoulders. Hollow Ichigo has his own version of this form with the opposite colors alternating black with white and vice versa. Quickly after transforming, Ichigo was able to call Zangetsu back to his hands with just the wave of his hand.
Immense Durability: Ichigo's durability has greatly increased, able to withstand several large explosions in his battle with Ulquiorra at close range with no visible damage. His skin and hands are also strong enough to catch and hold onto Ulquiorra's strongest attack, Lanza del Relámpago, without any damage inflicted on him.


*High-Speed
Ichigo manages to move at exceedingly incredible speeds, quick enough to appear behind Ulquiorra's back and effectively counter him before the former could even turn to face him. Ulquiorra also comments that his speed is not reached by the use of Flash Step; he actually uses Sonído instead.
After Ulquiorra shatters his mask, the energy from his Hollow transformation went above him and came down as some sort of energy that regrew the lost flesh that made his Hollow hole (as a result of Ulquiorra Cifer's Cero Oscuras) and even fully rejuvenated him of his injuries from Ulquiorra, to who commented on it to that effect.

Enhanced Cero: His crimson Cero has become exceedingly more powerful, capable of completely overwhelming Ulquiorra's Cero Oscuras and causing large scale destruction to large portion of the surroundings. It is fired from between the tips of his horns instead of his fingers as it was during Ichigo's Visored training. However, if one of the horns are cut off, he is unable to form the Cero properly, and any energy already gathered will implode.

"Kimi ni XOXO" Chapter 4

"Kimi ni XOXO" is back for the final two chapters.  I'm sorry it's been a while since a release, but this chapter was really hard to clean (poor quality raw) and had a lot of redrawing to do.  Because of the difficulty I want to acknowledge the contributions of Chiresakura who helped clean and Ichigo Stars who did all of the difficult redraws.  Without them, this chapter wouldn't have come out nearly as well as it did.

I wanted to release chapter 5 right after chapter 4, but again because of cleaning and redrawing challenges, it didn't get done before Aria 2 came out.  The chapter is cleaned, though, but untranslated.  I've decided to move on to the Aria 2 series and then circle back to finish chapter 5.  This way I won't be rushed to translate, Ichi won't be rushed to complete the redraws, and the readers (myself included) get a dose of "J+K" and "Magnolia" immediately.
